Mr. Md. Ahsanuzzaman has been working as the The Chiarman And CEO of Navana Industries Ltd., NI properties (a sister concern) and Director of Golden agrochemicals Ltd. Since 2008.

He completed his postgraduate degree (MSc. Business information systems) from Royal Holloway University of London with merit in 2007 and under graduate degree (BSc. Honours, Business Management) from Queen Mary, University of London in 2005. Before Moving to the UK and completing his degrees from these world famous institutions, he finished his higher secondary education from the esteemed Notre Dame college and secondary education and schooling from the infamous Government Laboratory High School.  

Upon returning from UK in 2006 he started his career in Islam Group of companies and worked for Eastern Housing Ltd., Bengal Development Corporation and Milners Tubewells ltd. In various management positions. His vast career endeavours include experience in real estate, infrastructure development, Agri business, and underground water management. After His Father Mr. Asaduzzaman’s demise in 2010, he resumed the position as the chairman of Navana industries ltd. Prior to that in 2008 he with his partners, set up Golden Agrochemicals ltd. in order to cater to the countries development towards scientific farming and agricultural development. In 2016 through his vast knowledge, he set up a new real estate wing of Navana industries named NI properties to benefit the middle income group with world class luxury apartments/condos at an affordable price. Mr. Ahsanuzzaman is also involved in various philanthropic activities and associated with multiple charitable institutes and working towards the benefit of safe work environment for workers and children’s education. He has dedicated his life towards the craft of ethical business and high quality products for the betterment of his country and humanity.

Ms. Afroza Akter

Honorable Executive Director

Afroza Akter is an experienced professional with strong leadership and management skills. She has been working as the Executive Director of Navana Industries Ltd., NI Properties (a sister concern), and Golden Agrochemicals Ltd. since February 2009.

She completed her Honours degree in English Literature from the University of Dhaka in 1999. She received her Secondary and Higher Secondary education from the esteemed Viqarunnisa Noon School and College, building a strong academic foundation.

She started her career in December 2004 as a Director at M/S Sea Trade Fertilizer Ltd. M/S Aftab Fertilizers & Chemicals Ltd., and Milners Pump Ltd. and was promoted to Executive Director in March 2006. In 2008, she worked at Eastern Housing Ltd. in the Sales Division as an Executive Director.

She lived in the UK and Ireland from 1991 to 1997, where she gained valuable exposure to international trade and investment. She is also an active supporter of women in business and women’s education and is associated with various support groups dedicated to these noble causes. She is known for her sincerity, dedication and responsible work.

Md. Waliuzzaman

Honorable Managing Director

Md. Waliuzzaman has been serving as the Managing Director of Golden Agrochemical Ltd. and as a Director of Navana Industries Ltd. and NI Properties Ltd. since 2008.

He obtained his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in 1982. Upon completion of his academic studies, he commenced his professional career with Islam Group of Companies, one of the leading industrial conglomerates in Bangladesh. During his tenure, he was actively engaged in diverse process manufacturing and product development functions across its various sister concerns.

From 1994 to 1997, he served as a Technical Adviser to three prominent state-owned jute mills—Dhaka Jute Mills, National Jute Mills, and Sonali Jute Mills Ltd.—where he provided strategic and technical guidance in their operational and production activities.

Between 1998 and 2008, he held the position of Operative Director at Milners Pumps Ltd. (formerly KSB Pumps Ltd.) and Sea Trade Fertilizer Ltd. At Milners Pumps Ltd., he was instrumental in overseeing the manufacturing of water pumps, oil pumps, and valve systems, and played a pivotal role in the establishment of a graded steel casting facility. At Sea Trade Fertilizer Ltd., he was extensively involved in the fertilizer and pesticide sectors, including the successful establishment of an NPKS mixed fertilizer plant. Under his leadership, the company developed a robust nationwide distribution network and attained a significant share of the domestic market.

In 2008, he assumed leadership responsibilities at Navana Industries Ltd. and subsequently initiated pesticide operations under the banner of Golden Agrochemical Ltd. Leveraging his extensive experience in fertilizers, pesticides, jute, and related process industries, he continues to make substantial contributions to the industrial and agricultural advancement of Bangladesh.

Over the course of his distinguished career, he has been honored with memberships and leadership roles in several esteemed professional bodies, including:

Md Jahurl Islam

Honorable Founder and Chairman

(1928-1995)

Md. Jahurul Islam (1928-1995) businessman, entrepreneur and social activist was born in Bhagalpur village of Bajitpur thana under Kishoreganj district on 1 August, 1928.

Jahurul Islam began his career as a contractor. He established Bengal Development Corporation which over time grew into a great construction company.He could foresee the housing problem in Dhaka in near future as a result of its very fast population growth and urbanisation and development spree and in 1964 he established the first real estate organisation in the country namely Eastern Housing Ltd.

He later established ‘Islam Group’. Since then Islam Group has diverged into multidimensional sectors including engineering, construction, trading and even manufacturing. The group, over the years, concentrated in other sectors including pharmaceuticals, textiles, jute, ceramics, media, real estate, finance, construction and agricultural sector.

Through the variety of his concerns, Jahurul Islam has shown diversified thinking capability that no one in his generation possessed. His unique way of thinking and leadership also resulted in Islam Group to be one of the leading industries in Bangladesh.

Besides being good businessman, he was also a humanitarian. He founded Jahurul Islam Medical College and Hospital, for the betterment of the country. Although the institute officially began in 1992, the hospital service started as early as 1989. It had huge capacity of holding patients, as much as 500 beds with both emergency and normal hospital facilities; no kind of injury was ever rejected for treatment. Modern and intensive case has been offered ever since its establishment. The institution also earned foreign reputation by admitting approximately 30 students every year.

Jahurul Islam died on 19 October 1995 in Singapore. He was buried at his village home, Bhagalpur. He is survived by a son and four daughters. At present, his son Manzurul Islam is the Chairman of Islam Group, the consortium of enterprises founded and nourished by Jahurul Islam.

Md Asaduzzaman

Honorable Chairman

Mr. Asaduzzaman was born in an esteemed Family in 1936 in Ahutia village of pakundia sub district of Kishoregonj District in then undivided India under the british empire now Bangladesh.

He completed his schooling from Kisoregonj and college from famous gurudoyal college. After college he started work and later Went to Japan and completed his automotive engineering and management course from the world famous Toyota institution in 1967.

He started his career under his cousin and one of the most Famous Businessman of Bangladesh Mr. Jahurul islam at Islam Groups Navana unit in 1966 and after one year of work went for higher education in Japan with full scholarship. His vision and hard work earned him the respect of all and He became the Vice Chairman of Islam group in 1997. He was also appointed as the vice chairman of Uttara bank ltd. one of the largest banks of Bangladesh in 1998. His extraordinary vision, Hard work and dedication made him the success that he was. He was appointed the chairman of Navana Industries ltd. in 2008.

In 1971 he actively joined the Great War for liberation of Bangladesh and received many accreditation for the freedom movement for the liberation of the people’s republic of Bangladesh.

In his lifetime he built various schools and orphanage and was associated with numerous charities and philanthropic activities. He was a great admirer and supporter of women’s education in rural Bangladesh. This great man breathed his last in January 2010.
